An adult should sign your Home-School Book when you have read and comment on your reading. Each week you are expected to practise your times tables and complete the timed grids in your Home-School book. Make sure you have your Home-School book available to make a note of these activities. Children in Year 4 should become more responsible for ensuring they bring their Home-School Book and Homework Book into school everyday. An adult should sign your Home-School Book when you have read and comment on your reading. All children are expected to complete their homework – completing it builds on many skills we develop in school and helps you to strengthen your organisation skills. It will be set on Friday to be completed and returned to school by Thursday. Each item should be clearly labelled with your child’s name.

This next half term is only 4 weeks so we’ll be very busy cramming in lots of fun and interesting learning opportunities. Where we find high amounts of sugar and salt we will try to think of alternative food options that would be a healthier food choice. Each Wednesday you will be set some arithmetic style questions to be completed in your homework book by the following Tuesday. We will look at the traffic light system on many items of food and identify types of food where hidden sugar and salt can be found.

There will be 20 random questions that should take approximately 15 – 20 minutes to complete. It will be set on Friday to be completed and returned to school by Thursday. If you get stuck htjs find something difficult, you must speak to an adult on Monday. Home – School diaries should be in school everyday, new information about reading books, trips, letters and upcoming events will be added throughout the week!
